The past several weeks our church has been doing a series that inspired me to write this:

First steps of faith, free-falling into God’s arms…
He promises the waters will part.
COURAGE comes in that moment.

First steps of faith, pouring out the oil…
He promises is won’t be the last.
BLESSING overflows in that moment.

First steps of faith, bathing in the Jordan…
He promises a soul will be washed clean.
HEALING is granted in that moment.

First steps of faith, drinking in the living water…
He promises a broken life transformed.
CONFIDENCE flows in that moment.

First steps of faith, devouring God’s word…
He promises a shepherd’s care.
STILL WATERS embrace in that moment.

First steps of faith, believing the storm will pass…
He promises a known future.
HOPE RESTORED is in that moment.

First steps of faith, believing He paid the price…
He promises an eternal life with Him.
PURPOSE is found in that moment.

(We studied Naaman, Paul, Jesus and the Samaritan Woman, Joshua/Caleb/the Israelites, Elijah and the widow, Philip and the Ethiopian Eunich…and I threw in my favorite “first steps of faith” story – my story…)

I am left filled with compelling thoughts and reflection after this series…and looking forward to more. God’s word is always satisfying and sustaining!

awesome… i think we are all thinking and feeling the same thing, someting is in the air and all you can do is soak it in.. and know that there were close to 100 people that took the plunge…

Awesome reminder! I remember my first step of faith on June 23, 1974. PTL for his abounding grace!
