Random ONE thoughts:

Day ONE….blog ONE….ONE more year (at least) 🙂

ONE more vacation day for Adams 12 School District students to be out of school – just found out they don’t have to go back tomorrow for some mysterious reason – only admin staff have to report, says the website.  My girls were so terribly disappointed!  🙂

What did you do with day ONE of the brand new year, 2007?

Game ONE of 2007:

I slept in – quite late, then went to my mom’s to play Scrabble.  Not that it matters, but I won.  🙂  She’ll tell you it’s because I wouldn’t let her play the word “vainer”….it’s not grammatically correct nor was it in her dictionary.  She valiently (sneakily) tried telling me in a sentence it would be…”She is vainer than he is.”  Nope. Didn’t buy it, it would be:  “She is more vain than he.”  I know she’ll be chomping at the bit to play again soon – it’s not easy to “topple the dynasty” as she taunts us when she tells us to come play…”Do you think you can topple the dynasty today?”  She’ll beckon.  It’s always fun to gloat just a little bit when it actually happens – which it did today.  But, who’s keeping track.  (By the way, just a reminder, the competitive-ness everyone teases me about – yep, I was trained by a professional – and her name is Maxine to most of you, mom to me!)

ONE phone call  — that was really special today:

Robbin called from New York City to reassure me that she’s safe and sound.  She’s out there working with Center for Student Missions.  She spent her summer working in NYC and they flew her out to lead a group this week on an inner city mission trip – it was a blessing to her to be able to go and have this ministry experience over her break from college.  She had to stay in the church basement where the group she’ll be leading will stay with her today through Friday.  Last night, though, it was just Robbin and the wonderful church mice.  I probably worried a tiny bit – the church is in a pretty rough neighborhood in Brooklyn – but she knew that – and called me this morning – thanks, Robbin!  By the way, she spent New Year’s Eve in Times Square as a cow.

ONE more thing to do today — create new playlists for the new iPod.

Yep, that’s what’s left for my day today.  Pretty relaxing day all in all – so, I’m signing off to create some great playlists to get me through the rest of the week at work.  Hmmm…..where to start…..

Happy New Year, everyone!  May your life be filled with unexpected joy and blessings this year and may you find ways to grow deeper in a personal relationship with Jesus!

  1. Donna says:

One: My nephew is going to NYC tomorrow (just a little audition for The Met is all), so it’s a NYC kind of week!
Two: Is Maxine a particular Maxine at NHCC we may know of? Would that be your mother?
