Ok…I’m confessing…I have serious blog envy.  I have the “free” version of my blog and in order to add more bells and whistles and customize the way I want to I have to upgrade to a paid version.  I’ve been avoiding it due to the rationalization that I don’t need it, that I can rant and post away without having to have all the other fun stuff.  But Rob scrobbles!  I want to scrobble.  And Scott has random fun opinion polls on his sidebar.  And Jeanie has a cool custom header with an animated woman that even looks like her!  There’s more to confess, more features I’m jealous of on the many blogs I frequent.  And, here’s the thing, I know many of these features offer you the option to “post your own poll, playlist, etc.” on your blog…but I’ve tried and it doesn’t work.  I think it’s because of my “free version” having just the basics…I can redo my blog “appearance” but again, it’s just selecting from profiles that are already created for people like me who lack the understanding of how to really customize, or have the “basic free” set up for their blog.  Do I need to enroll in a “Creative Blogging for Idiots” class?  Or, maybe, just maybe, The Scrobbler (aka Rob) will help me.  Maybe he will come alongside and help me create a brand new look with fun features – he’s now the expert whose circle is closest to mine – I married him after all.

Remember the iPod saga?  Remember that I needed to ask support from you (the 2 readers who read my blog consistently) to petition for a new iPod?  Well, here’s a new opportunity.  Please start putting on serious guilt and pressure to The Scrobbler to carve out some time for little old me – HIS WIFE – to upgrade my blog.  🙂

Let the petitions begin……….

That’s funny. I was envying your blog. TypePad sucks when it comes to making it look cool unless you know how to do HTML coding. WordPress has many more templates to choose from.

hmm… nhcc has unlimited acct capability and i was going to ask for one… maybe we can use that…

    the other thing is…

blogs are supposed to be simple… you may want too do a real ‘website’

  4. Ok, Blogspot makes the gadgets easy but I always have liked the look of your blog…

Pay no attention to the man behind the curtain? (I don’t know what that means either)

  5. I have been having the exact same blog envy, not to mention the fact that you can add Google AdSense and actually make your blog earn for you if you aren’t using free WordPress (like we are). I looked into blogger (because they do allow lots of customization) but I had a really tough time moving my posts over and none of the comments came with–yucky. I think I’m on the upgrading at WordPress path–either that or I’ll just move it to a paid hosting site and keep the WordPress engine. I know WordPress has tools to export the whole thing and import on a different site (including comments, etc.) if you stay on the WordPress engine. If they’ll redirect for me so I don’t have to change my URL, that’s even better.

Keep us posted on your progress!

Thanks for all the feedback, everyone. I’ll keep thinking it through – in the meantime I’ll live vicariously through The Scrobbler and Opinion Poller, etc. 🙂

    Ahhh, blog envy…
I seem to be getting emails in my SPAM folder concerning that?
They offer pills such as Blogagra and Blogvite. They seem to indicate that all you need to do to have a happy Blog life is to pop one of the capsules and everything on your page will be more readable and up to date?
I guess I look at those emails like the difference between a plant and a weed…
If you pull a plant out, good luck getting it to come back.
You can do anything you want to a weed, spray it, curse it and kick it, and next week it will be back as healthy and happy as ever!
Our servers keep deleting those Spam messages…
    But they keep coming back!
Maybe I should just take a Chill Pill and Blog On?
So Blog On! You’re on the right track and let not the blog weed grow in your soil !!!!!
I want to know where I get a hairdo like stephaniesplace so when I leave a comment, they will know it’s me????
