So, thinking of Robbin cruising back to Colorado from Connecticut made me remember the time we were headed to Kansas to visit Rob’s cousins and their girls…Robbin, Bethany and Elise (our girls) were really little.  Elise just a baby, Bethany almost 2 and Robbin almost 5.  We got on the highway only 5 minutes from home and the age old questions popped up from Bethany…”Are we almost there yet?”  Great start to the 8 hour trip!

Never fear, husband extraordinaire was there!  Rob had mapped out how many M & M’s it would take to give each daughter 1 M & M for every ten miles we traveled.  They each had their own little baggie filled with M & M’s and after each 10 miles passed we’d tell them to eat another M & M…they watched the miles go by and the M & M supply dwindle and knew when only a couple of M & M’s remained that we were ALMOST THERE!  It worked like a charm.

Other things we’ve done on road trips…the alphabet game, the music artist game, the license plate game, the road sign game, lots of crazy singing, the “hey cow” game, and an odd assortment of other fun-ness!
