Annie’s contribution to the show was my favorite part of the Idol Gives Back show from American Idol. Loved it! She sang with such intensity because the song related to her time in Africa coming face to face with the plight of 4 orphaned boys trying to survive on their own – it was very touching.  We take so much for granted and need to be awakened to these types of thing – figuring out what role we can play in the lives of those who are in desperate need.  Sometimes it requires contributing to a cause overseas, but many times you just need to open your eyes to those around you wherever you are!

  1. I missed the show (I am not an American Idol fan) and have heard of several great performances, including this one. I am an Annie Lennox fan — love her voice.

If ever I got goose bumps it was when Annie sang this song. She is great as a solo artist as much as she was when in the duo. Euyrithymics not sure of the spelling.

this was my favorite part o the show as well… the raw emotion and rom someone whos skill have not waned at all.. i think her singing has gotten better over the years… it was really hard seeing her segment in africa and the kids that she spent time with… just wanted to go over and bring those brothers here to live with us
