Since it’s technically still Monday, though late in the day, here’s my Monday’s Memory…. I was digging through an old notebook of my thoughts on messages I’d heard and I found these words I’d written about first steps of faith and how God provides in those first steps.

First steps of faith, freefalling into God’s arms.
He promises the waters will part.
COURAGE comes in that moment.
(Joshua 3)

First steps of faith, pouring out the last oil.
He promises it won’t be the last.
BLESSING overflows in that moment.
(I Kings 17:7-16)

First steps of faith, bathing in the Jordan.
He promises a soul will be washed clean.
HEALING is granted in that moment.
(II Kings 5)

First steps of faith, drinking in the living water.
He promises a broken life transformed.
CONFIDENCE flows in that moment.
(John 4:1-42)

First steps of faith, devouring God’s Word.
He promises a shepherd’s care.
STILL WATERS embrace in that moment.
(Psalm 23)

First steps of faith, believing storms will pass.
He promises a known future.
HOPE RESTORED is in that moment.
(Hebrews 6:18-20)

First steps of faith, believing He paid the price.
He promises eternity with Him.
PURPOSE was gained in that moment.
(II Timothy 1:8-12)

Wow. That is cool. Now we need one for us oldies in the faith – the ones who have wrestled with God and walk with a limp…
